Gala Bingo

Gala is the UK's leading bingo operator with 32 million admissions every year and over 5 million members. Therefore the prospect of closing one of their clubs for even a day was unbearable, especially to their customers.

Gala had been extremely proactive and undertaken the asbestos surveys well before the department of Health recommendations, and had identified that the Grade ll listed building required the removal of asbestos from the roof area.

So when the legislation came into effect that all buildings erected before 1999 had to have a plan for removing any evident asbestos, Gala were already leading the way.

DSR Demolition, the asbestos removal company, recommended Chadbourn Scaffolding and Industrial Screens, who offer a 24-hour a day, 7-day a week service, to Gala direct.

Chadbourn were able to start and finish the work after the close of business late one night, which was a major contributing factor to their selection. This meant that the works being carried out had absolutely no affect on the daily operations of Gala.

Chadbourn erected a 5 metre long x 6 metres wide x 12 metres high structure that was then completely enclosed with a protective screen. The screen was dustproof, hygienic and protected the bingo hall and its occupants from any contamination and debris.

The quality of the Chadbourn experience was further echoed by the clean state the surrounding areas were left in after the dismantle of the tower, ready for the public that very morning.

DSR went on to state:

Chadbourn not only surpassed their reputation for providing a range of flexible solutions and their unparallel out of hours service, but also the end product always exceeded DSR’s expectations.
